Cliches

Cliche #1
"If you love something, set it free.  If it comes back, it's yours; if it doesn't,  it never was".

This, with the image of a flying dove, hung from an obscure corner of my house. I could never understand it's true meaning then and it doesn't matter that I do now. What matters is, do I believe it?
See, the thing is, that when we love someone, we never think we'd have to let them go. And even if we are left with no choice but to let you go, how do we let go of the memories? Of the first time we kissed, of the time we held hands, of the glances we'd steal of the other, of the trivial things we fought about, of the way you looked at me, of the scrabble games, of the vows, promises and the conversations and the million moments of pure heaven in each others arms? How do we let go of all of that? How do we mend our broken hearts?

 Cliche #2
"You don't know what you have till it's gone."

The thing is, you never expected it to go. When you have the right people in your life, you don't think they're gonna leave you or go away from your life. And that is where we go wrong. When we begin to assume that the goodness of our life will always be there, we become complacent and that becomes, by far, the worst mistake we will ever make.
